Design Solutions making life more beautiful ...
The brief for this beautiful home in southern Tasmania was to create a relaxed coastal atmosphere for family and friends to enjoy memorable holidays.
Inspiration
The interior styling is inspired by the location and history.
Environment... Par La Mer
The house enjoys views over the local marina to the iconic Bruny Island across the channel, and is truly ”par la mer.”......”by the sea”. The coastal environment is one of superb natural beauty. Coastal colour palette is balanced by soft natural light.
Historic Ties
The location has a clear French connection from the the early days of European exploration. The French influence is evident up and down the coast with geographical names including the D'Entrecausteaux Channel and Bruny Island.
Decoration Concept
The colour palette is muted browns, blues and greys of the sand, sea and sky. Spaces are filled with French country style oak furniture. The high sculptured ceilings are cut at varying angles to create the lunette windows. These windows are lenses to the sky that allow penetration of soft natural light by day and are port holes to the stars at night.
