The brief was to create a contemporary residential interior incorporating the client's unique furniture pieces and travel memorabilia.
Inspiration
The interior styling of this residence was to complement the views of the bushland setting intruding into the rooms through the large floor to ceiling doors and windows.
Environment
The residence is a light weight raised platform set against a ridgeline with 180 degree views of the valley below and beyond to the surrounding densely forested hills. Mount Coot-tha sits central in the skyline with towers that sparkle in the evening.
Decoration Concept
The contemporary residential interior decoration is based on a warm colour palette comprising browns with pops of orange and red in contrast with the shades of green of the bushland setting.
The kitchen and living area are oriented to take advantage of the cooling breezes during summer and expansive views over the valley to the hills beyond. The galley kitchen integrates aesthetics and function. Clever use of symmetry and custom cabinetry with granite benchtops create a timeless sense of style. Arrangement of kitchen appliances and storage areas creates an efficient work space.
The office with its custom cabinetry has access to a library and bookcase specifically designed for the space.
The media room has been furnished with a comfortable leather lounge, unique Japanese cabinet and artwork that complete the look.
